I will try to keep this page up to date with the latest and greatest news and information available for the -[x]- & Noobspeak.com tournaments.
1-30-2009: We are attempting to try-out bigger custom maps rather than trying to hold fun competitive tournaments of 32 players on itsy bitsy stock maps designed for 5v5 competition play.
The reason for this is two-fold:
#1 - This will allow for more breathing room inside of each round. Granted there will be a longer wait period when a limited life or S&D style of play is used... however it seems like it will help maximize the fun and make for a more epic feel to the entire experience.
#2 - More Players !!! The size of the map is directly proportional to how much fun more people can have at one time. We are shooting for 32 players maximum on the server on Saturdays and we certainly do have the interest to do it.
Tournament Mailing List: If you would like to be a part of the tournament mailing list we encourage you to join the forums and post in the mailing list topic in the Tournament Section of the -[x]- Forums. This will give you updates on new ideas, links to new custom maps, and weill also allow you to respond to the emails that get sent in place of polls.
Format:
All players MUST be on Teamspeak prior to the start of the tournament in order to ensure maximum fun for strategies and communications. No farty sounds please! 
2 Captains are Chosen by the people... sometimes by volunteering... and when the tournaments get rolling they will probably be based on rivalries and shit talking... because that’s what makes it fun!
Those captains then choose players one by one, much like kickball back in 6th grade, based on who is on the server and/or teamspeak.
We then seperate the teams into their own channels in Teamspeak as not to let the enemy in on the strats that will be used henceforth in the tournament!
Maps: Maps are usually decided by the captains once we get a healthy map rotation set on the server. However before that happens we will be hand picking maps based on many different criteria that will maximize the fun of a 32 man server.

Ruleset: Standard TWL HC S&D Ruleset applies with the following changes:
Game Options:
Round Time: 3.5 minutes | Default: 2.0 minutes
Dvar: scr_sd_timelimit
( Total time of 1 round from beginning to end )
Strat Time: 25 seconds | Default: 10 seconds
Dvar: pam_strattime
( Total time after ready-up period is over before round starts )
Grace Period: 10 seconds | Default: 5 Seconds
Dvar: scr_game_graceperiod
( Total time for switching classes AFTER the round has started )
Explosion Damage: 0 | Default: 1
Dvar: pam_allow_explosion_damage
( Environmental explosions such as cars and barrels )
Perks:
Alow C4: 1 | Default: 0
Dvar: perk_allow_c4_mp
( Whether or not C4 is allowed )
Extreme Conditioning: 1 | Default: 0
Dvar: perk_allow_specialty_longersprint
( Whether or not Extreme Conditioning is allowed )
UAV Streak: 5 | Default: 3
Dvar: pam_hp_uav_streak
(How many kills it takes to earn a UAV )
